  1. Phorest Pay - Deposits for certain clients / appointments

    I find it difficult to get my staff to remember to take deposits. It’s very hard to remember “problem clients” and the flash up to say the client has missed appointments is not very effective. What would be good would be to add a feature that automatically takes you to the deposit screen when booking certain appointments. For example - new clients, selected “problem clients” or certain treatments (long ones ect). A pop up to the deposit screen to ensure deposits are taken, not allowing the treatment to be booked without would be good

    Hi folks,

    Some big news here, we’re now in development on a new payment platform for Phorest. We expect this to release later this year (after summer), we have a team dedicated to this and we can’t wait to get it into your hands.

    This will allow things like larger deposits, taking deposits over the phone and charging the balance of appointments using stored credit cards on client accounts.

    Big things are coming this year!

  2. a "Did Not Show" counter or button.

    Spoke to Rachel for training. Suggested a (Did Not Show) counter or (Did Not Show) button, similar to the break button. Reason being is that there are many naughty customers who doesn't show up where within that time we lose a time slot. So it would be lovely to have a counter or a did not show button. Would help us a lot for future bookings to take an individual seriously or not.

  3. Notify Salon when an SMS notification has "Failed"

    When a Client's SMS Appointment Notification has "FAILED" to send please provide the salon with an update so we know our Clients are not receiving their notifications. That way we can rectify the problem BEFORE a missed appointment. Thank you.

  4. Changing appointments in pay screen to reflect on the appointment calendar

    A guest may be booked in for a particular service, but when they arrive at the salon they may have a different service performed. Currently, we have to change the appointment in the appointment book screen to reflect the changes (upgrades/changes/downgrades) before we can pay the appointment. Could we please have the ability to make the changes in the pay screen, and in turn this then update the appointment book to reflect what has actually been charged for. If the stylists forget to change the appointment before paying we get left with appointments that are checked in but never appearing…

  5. Option to flag appointments with important notes/reminders

    There should be away that we can flag an appointment on the book (make it red) for important notes, reminders or if they have a habit of being late or not showing up to their appointments. This can also be combined for Birthday reminders.

    What I do now is before their appointment time I make a break time before and write my notes there.

    I was thinking maybe having an option to flag the appointment and make it Red so on the appointment book it stands out when looking at it

  6. Appointments - Automatically Update Prices If Staff Prices Increase Or Staff Category Changes

    For the system to automatically update any prices of services booked in if stylist has had a promotion and the prices have changed to higher stylist prices.

  7. Allow service durations of 0 minutes

    Allowing certain, quick add on services to be set at 0 minutes so that they show up as “booked” but don’t actually take up a time frame on the appointment book.
    Example: Sally is booked for a Haircut with Stacie. Front Desk Team upgrades Sally to a treatment that typically takes Stacie 5 minutes to apply. Stacie does not need a full service block on her appointment book for the treatment but needs to know that the FD upgraded the client to a treatment cut. Most stylists in our Salon Company would rather find time/ways to accommodate an add on…

  8. Allow Commission To Include Discounts

    When calculating commission the system works off the price paid by the client including any discounts.
    This means that staff get penalized for discounted vouchers and when I run a special offer.
    I'd like the option to be able to choose to include discounts or exclude them when running my commission reports

  9. Spell Check options throughout the system

    Spell Check options throughout the system - not just in Marketing. We can't catch every spelling mistake for our online booking descriptions and I know our clients are annoyed with our typos! HA!

  10. Training Mode

    Having a "Training Mode", on the desktop.
    This would be great to have with New Starters or keeping other staff members up to date with the latest procedures. This way we could do some training without affecting appointments that are already booked in, and building up confidence before going onto the main desktop

  11. Appointments - Display Gift Voucher Balance On Pay Screen

    It would be helpful to have a gift card balance indicator on the pay screen similar to the account/course/treatcard buttons that are currently displayed. It would aid in a better clients experience.

  12. employee clock in/clock out hours should show up on payroll reports. Right now the only thing that shows up are commissioned employees

    Right now I have to compile 2 reports to do payroll. Payroll reports now only show commissions/tips. It should include employees who clock in and clock out- Front desk and other help, Commissions and tips.

    It would be great if it showed every providers total sales by day/commissions/tip. / hours worked by day -for clocked in employees. then totals for that pay period.

  13. Show when a client has two appointments booked close together

    Sometimes clients forget or don't mention that they have an appointment booked and then will call to make another booking. On SalonGenius there was a function that if a client had two appointments within a week of each other, a warning would flash up to say in case it was a mistake. It would be handy to have this function on Phorest as well.

    Make family treat cards possible so multiple client cards can share the points and rewards of one card. So many of our guests want one family card.

  15. When an order comes in have the option to scan the products in as arrived

    Quick scan mode when checking an order has all arrived. Sometimes as a Key color account the orders are huge for professional stock and can take time scanning and punching in the amount. Would be easier if they could quickly scan the stock.

  16. A button to block online booking for a client that is not as severe as ‘banned’

    Some clients consistently book the wrong appointments or they book multiple spots and cancel or no show at the last minute. The time in managing them would be easier if the were simply redirected to get in touch. A banned button should only be used in extreme circumstances, there should be levels of restriction

  17. Pop up to show remainder of gift card balance after check out on same window as re-book, email receipt, etc.

    It's helpful to be able to quickly write the remaining balance on the back of the gift card for the client to remember how much of a balance is left.

  18. Check SMS balance through the Marketing section

    It would be very useful to be able to check SMS balance in the marketing suite so that we can see how many are available before running a campaign and would prompt reorder before running out.

  19. On sales screen break down services total and products total

    When cashing a client out, if they purchase a product with their service, having it broken down (maybe just at the bottom or something) so when they ask what the services are we don't need to go in and manually calculate it. I know my clients ask this frequently for tipping purposes. so sally got a hair cut for $53 and spent $77 on products instead of seeing $130 total due you would see

    (Services $53)
    (Products $77)

    or something along those lines would be Greatly appreciated!!!!

  20. Trails to show what staff members have viewed, in addition to what they have edited

    On our old system we had a daily log of who’d done what when logged into their PIN number.
    Eg. When they’d looked at a client record card and what time. And when they’d changed an appointment from one day to another. The trails on the system at the moment are good but it takes a long time to track any changes so to be able to see what staff have been looking at or doing whilst logged in would be fab.
