Disable creating an online account for some services
We previously used a simple form to allow our customers to book a video consultation by taking their phone number and email address only.
The issue with the current process on Phorest is that users have to create an account with Phorest in order to proceed with the initial video consultation booking. Account creation shouldn't happen at this stage. We are happy to gather their information in order to send them confirmation/reminder email/SMS, but they shouldn't have to create an account with Phorest just yet.
Booking a video consultation is the very first step of the customer journey so we would prefer it if it was as simple as possible.
On a technical level, this user without a password will still be recorded in the database along with his phone number and email address, but an account won't be created for them.
When this user comes back and wishes to add a new booking (not a video consultation), the system can perform an email lookup, find the user and create an account with a given password.
Thank you so much for your feedback Caroline,
We are currently investigating the user account handling so this fits perfectly.
We'll keep you updated,
