Phorest Pay - Payment & Deposit Solution
An Integrated payment & deposit solution would allow us to take credit card reservations to cut down on no shows. Would also help with cashing up and speeding up reports
Some big news here, we’re now in development on a new payment platform for Phorest. We expect this to release later this year (after summer), we have a team dedicated to this and we can’t wait to get it into your hands.
This will allow things like larger deposits, taking deposits over the phone and charging the balance of appointments using stored credit cards on client accounts.
Big things are coming this year!
Our credit card machine has died in the middle of the day and there is NO backup way to take a payment. This is crazy to me. Every other software i've ever used you could manually type the credit card information in. It seems absurd to have to use the credit card machine. We can't take calls from home on snow days and take the credit cards because we don't have credit card machines at home. Please have a backup method. We are Literally taking people credit cards on paper and waiting for a new machine to be delivered and then going to process the sales later. This is so not ideal and there has to be a better solution.

Send an email or text for clients to pay their deposit, as not all clients like to pay over the phone or online

We take deposits for treatments or weddings but if they have credit on account we don't know if it the deposit so they may use it for something else and then the deposit is gone?
Allow a payment plan option for high ticket services like extensions, allowing clients to make payments for service before they receive the service.

When booking an existing or new client, having a pop up appear that tells the front desk the client has an existing card on file or if it needs to be added to cut down on no shows

Clients are looking for ways to pay up their treatments or purchase gifts.
any update? I see your last post was on April 24,2020. is it available???? Would be nice to see what you are planning rollouts and of what.
Has this come in to effect yet? Needing a way for clients to add their credit card info for no shows.
So we don’t have to take client to the till at reception, or have them use a card machine. Just ask if it’s okay to put payment through on the card they used to pay the online deposit with.
To help with no shows and late cancellations, and also aid contactless payment and reception traffic.
Right now we can't secure new appts with a cc to guarantee against a no-show. It would be nice if we could do it as we are booking the appt. To have to book the appt and then go into client card and credit terms to enter it is to many steps
Non refundable booking fee rather than deposit and all setvices should be 50% up front for online bookings
yes please! your terms & conditions do not match ours

A secure place to save all credit card details so we can manually charge for no shows/late cancellations that don’t book through the app.

We need a button for guests to agree to our terms and conditions for booking appointments on line. These terms and conditions should include our cancellation policies, Credit card processing policies for no show, late cancellations or moving appointments. We would also like new guests to require full payment at time of booking. Just like you all had us agree to terms to post or comment on this site.

Please enable Phorest to store credit card details. Hotels have been doing this for years and we as an industry need to do this. People are cancelling at the last minute or just no show. Phorest has a system for online booking but the majority of our clients book over the phone but we need to secure those bookings as well.
We are continually experiencing problems when trying to charge client cards for no show appointments and receiving the message that the charge was 'unsuccessful'. Surely this defeats the purpose of the online booking, other than Phorest secure the small booking fee and the salon is left with a no show and no income to cover the lost earnings. It's a suggestion that at the time of booking the funds to cover the treatment cost are 'held' until the appointment has been cashed off.
Please allow a password protected space where we can store credit card info for our cancellation policies.
Finding it very difficult to enforce a policy when there is no where to hold this info?

We have a trend of people booking over the phone to avoid the deposit, and then not showing up. Our current new policy is to take a deposit over the phone, but as there is not a way to charge the client after the no-show, because it doesn't save their information, it's not a great workaround as we can't always have them pre-pay for every appt. Having a card on file would alleviate this issue.
