  1. Deposits for certain clients / appointments

    I find it difficult to get my staff to remember to take deposits. It’s very hard to remember “problem clients” and the flash up to say the client has missed appointments is not very effective. What would be good would be to add a feature that automatically takes you to the deposit screen when booking certain appointments. For example - new clients, selected “problem clients” or certain treatments (long ones ect). A pop up to the deposit screen to ensure deposits are taken, not allowing the treatment to be booked without would be good

  2. Pop up to advise that it is a client's birthday

    Pop up on the system for when a client is in the salon on (or around) their birthday.

  4. Changing appointments in pay screen to reflect on the appointment calendar

    A guest may be booked in for a particular service, but when they arrive at the salon they may have a different service performed. Currently, we have to change the appointment in the appointment book screen to reflect the changes (upgrades/changes/downgrades) before we can pay the appointment. Could we please have the ability to make the changes in the pay screen, and in turn this then update the appointment book to reflect what has actually been charged for. If the stylists forget to change the appointment before paying we get left with appointments that are checked in but never appearing…

  5. Option to flag appointments with important notes/reminders

    There should be away that we can flag an appointment on the book (make it red) for important notes, reminders or if they have a habit of being late or not showing up to their appointments. This can also be combined for Birthday reminders.

    What I do now is before their appointment time I make a break time before and write my notes there.

    I was thinking maybe having an option to flag the appointment and make it Red so on the appointment book it stands out when looking at it

  6. a "Did Not Show" counter or button.

    Spoke to Rachel for training. Suggested a (Did Not Show) counter or (Did Not Show) button, similar to the break button. Reason being is that there are many naughty customers who doesn't show up where within that time we lose a time slot. So it would be lovely to have a counter or a did not show button. Would help us a lot for future bookings to take an individual seriously or not.

  7. Spell Check options throughout the system

    Spell Check options throughout the system - not just in Marketing. We can't catch every spelling mistake for our online booking descriptions and I know our clients are annoyed with our typos! HA!

  8. Daily client tickets

    Option to print daily tickets for stylists to hand to receptionist which would include client appointment details, services prices, notes, product recommendations section.

    NOT to be printed on receipt printer, but to an actual printer.

    Millennium and other softwares offer this very demanding feature.

  9. Send reminders to book in 8 weeks after last visit

    I use to Use STX software, Phorest is better!... BUT we had an email go out at 8 WEEKS. since last visit that said.
    Can you believe its already been 8 weeks since your last visit, we know life is busy....... book .....

    This email was EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE in nudging people to book.
    Please do not over look this it was very effective.

  10. Check SMS balance through the Marketing section

    It would be very useful to be able to check SMS balance in the marketing suite so that we can see how many are available before running a campaign and would prompt reorder before running out.

  11. Individual client text messages

    Our old system allowed us to send a direct personalised SMS or email message to the client from the client card area. We would like to be able to message clients if a stylist is running late and the client is unable to answer a call from us due to them driving or being engaged.
    Currently you have to create a message in marketing and it’s just too difficult and not personal to the situation.

  13. Product Reconnect

    A product ReConnect, we have a Services ReConnect, but for those of us salons that sell retail, a Product Reconnect could help revenue and overall business. Show our clients we are up-to-date on their needs and allow them to purchase ahead of time online so their products are ready in-store at their next reservation or appointment.

  14. Trails to show what staff members have viewed, in addition to what they have edited

    On our old system we had a daily log of who’d done what when logged into their PIN number.
    Eg. When they’d looked at a client record card and what time. And when they’d changed an appointment from one day to another. The trails on the system at the moment are good but it takes a long time to track any changes so to be able to see what staff have been looking at or doing whilst logged in would be fab.

  16. Show when a client has two appointments booked close together

    Sometimes clients forget or don't mention that they have an appointment booked and then will call to make another booking. On SalonGenius there was a function that if a client had two appointments within a week of each other, a warning would flash up to say in case it was a mistake. It would be handy to have this function on Phorest as well.

  17. Add a way to give a client a discount, but pay the stylist or technician full commission. In millennium, there was a check box for this.

    This allows the owner to discount services and product but still pay employees. Without it, I have to track these discounts manually and then make manual adjustments during payroll input.

  18. employee clock in/clock out hours should show up on payroll reports. Right now the only thing that shows up are commissioned employees

    Right now I have to compile 2 reports to do payroll. Payroll reports now only show commissions/tips. It should include employees who clock in and clock out- Front desk and other help, Commissions and tips.

    It would be great if it showed every providers total sales by day/commissions/tip. / hours worked by day -for clocked in employees. then totals for that pay period.

  19. Dont allow a room to be double booked

    When booking in an appointment, if the rooms are FULL, don't allow an appointment to be booked in.
    It is too easy to override the 'warning'
    Also if an appointment gets moved dates but that room isn't available, allocate a different room (if available) don't just double book the original room.

  20. There should be a button or option to mark a product as a loss, like from theft or not working properly (the nozzle or whatever)

    When you see something has been stolen (like if the box is empty and on the shelf, or if a product is not functioning properly..is there a loss button or something to have that in a report for the end of the year.
